Walk On, Walk On
Like you, I’m really rattled after what happened in DC the other day. You gotta be kidding me. This is not the America I grew up in. But I gotta say, I was encouraged that even after all that chaos, Congress and the Senate went right back to chambers and fulfilled their duties.
I think after all this, the tone of the country will change. We’ll pull together, knock the virus for a loop and by spring and summer, America will get America back. We gotta do it, gang.
Besides the downbeat, here’s a coupla upbeat things that hit me this week. Since we couldn’t spend time with family over the holidays, how about you spend some time now with the Gibb family. You gotta watch the Bee Gees documentary How Can You Mend A Broken Heart on HBO. It’s great.
Speaking of British groups, Gerry Marsden, lead singer and founder of the British Invasion group Gerry and the Pacemakers, died this week. For a time in the early 60s, his band rivaled his Liverpool buddies the Beatles. Gerry sang one of the greatest songs of all time, “You’ll Never Walk Alone.”
I’ll tell ya, after kicking 2020 to the curb and fighting COVID-19 and the attack on DC. this is an inspiring song as we ride into 2021. “Walk on, walk on, with hope in your heart and you’ll never walk alone.” You gotta listen to it. Keep your dukes up.
