Get In The Cruiser

Last week’s piece was a long one, so this Friday I’ll just take you out for a short spin.

You know what’s back? Cruising.

I’m not talking about cruises. No one is going to set sail on a Carnival anytime soon. I mean like in the ‘50s when you’d cruise the main drag in your Chevy.

Now that people are cooped up at home, they’re hitting the road, cruising the neighborhood or taking a Sunday drive.

My parents used to pull these Sunday drives when I was a kid and I hated it. I wanted to be playing pick-up baseball.

But, hey, this is a good idea. Jump in the car, play your favorite tunes and sing loud. Gainer asked me the first tune I’d play. Easy. “Bristol Stomp” by The Dovells. What’s yours?

Keep your dukes up.
