Washed Up
Down in Brooklyn they’re having loads of fun down at the laundromat. Ain’t that something? Yep, at Pearl Lee’s Washtub (good name) you can enjoy beer, wine, coffee, burgers and more while your clothes are tumbling in the washers and dryers.
Owner Theo Dupree says the place aims to make a mundane chore more fun. Brian Holland, Chairman of the Coin Laundry Association, says, “People have realized that laundromats can be a place to engage the community. This is a movement now.”
Hey, in the backyard of Pearl Lee’s, they also have live music. Jazz on Saturdays and reggae on Sundays. It’s all about local, neighborhood people hanging out. Have a burger and a few Brooklyn Lagers and hear some tunes. We gotta do more of this yabba-dabba-do.
Keep your dukes up.
